January 17, 2013

Since emerging in 2008 Jarmean? have played Bestival, Electric Picnic Festival, London Burlesque Festival, The Jazz Cafe, Last Days of Decadence and events for White Mischief and the mighty Lost Vagueness.

Mixing the traditional with futuristic has given Steampunk band Jarmean? a distinct sound that has seen them headline the Spiegel Tent at Bestival, The Scala and Bush Hall. They have been featured on Steve Lamacq’s show (BBC Radio 2) and been aptly described as like “Blur meets Jack the Ripper”

The EP accompanies an award winning video for title track ‘Bad Penny’. directed by Alex Sufit (Lexitricity). The Bad Penny video won the ‘Radar Award’ for best music video at the 8th London Short Film Festival. It was also nominated for the ‘Music Video Award’ at Rushes Soho Shorts, ‘Best New Talent’ at MUSICLIP 2010 (Barcelona) and showcased as part of the BBC Norfolk Music Video Festival (BBC New Talent/ Radio 1). The video has also featured in Promo News and NME, as well as international industry press, including Popkontext! Germany and the Chicago Sun-Times.
